Khashayar Sarrafi, IZSF-Chairman of Pahlavani Wrestling Scientific Committee: The mission of the Wrestling Strength and Conditioning Science professionals group is to provide each wrestler-mat warrior (Koshti Pahlavani-Pahlavan), with strength training and wrestling conditioning programs that are well researched and up to date, bringing the latest advances in the field strength and conditioning to sport and art of koshti pahlavani.
Coach Khashayar is committed to the development of each wrestler-athlete (pahlavan) both mentally and physically. Khashayar believe in a higher standard of achievement in which the pursuit of excellence is not only seen in our wrestler-athletes (pahlavann) but in ourselves as wrestling professional-coaches. It is our goal to provide relentless energy to every wrestler-athlete and pahlavan , along with the proper strength training knowledge and motivation needed to achieve their greatest athletic potential.
The wrestling strength and conditioning professionals program is under the direction of khashayar sarrafi who became the full-time director and coach of wrestling Strength and Conditioning for university of chicago wrestling program in the fall of 2010. Coach Sarrafi is the chairman of pahlavani wrestling scientific committee of IZSF and professional member of Northwestern University wrestling club, he is the FILA (International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles), World Traditional Wrestling Committee advisor and professional consultant.
One of the main goals for wrestling strength and conditioning professionals is to promote a healthy well-being for wrestler-elite athletes and pahlavanan. Coinciding with this are strength and conditioning and all its relative focus areas such as;
Warm-Up principles, Dynamic warm-up, training for power, high altitude mask training. Maximal power, muscular endurance, traditional-body-weight training series, buddy-warrior circuit series, functional training, balance training, core training, cardio-for-warriors, plyometrics, speed development, agility training, flexibility, hot-yoga-training, traditional Persian wrestling conditioning circuit or zurkhaneh; (shield lifting, kabbadeh lifting, mace turning, conditioning club swinging, heavy club swinging, push-up board workout series), and nutrition for elite warriors-wrestlers. Each wrestling conditioning program is wrestling specific exploring all facets of training.
The purpose of the wrestling strength and conditioning professionals program is to incorporate a dynamic and systematic approach into training programs for modern-Olympic styles and traditional wrestling (koshti pahlavani), specifically designed to help each wrestler-athlete and pahlavan reach their full potential.
