About the program, chairman of the Zurkhaneh Sports Board of Najaf province, Mohammad Fatlavi, stated that the present athletes have been selected from the province's top wrestlers, so the training course will be more effective.
"After ending the course and passing the exam, top members are to make the Najaf team. And we hope to hold the complementary courses in Iran, with the support of the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports", he continued.
Iraq is an active member of IZSF foundation boards, and Iraqi team reached to vice champion place in Belarus. The country's national youth team is in place of Asian championship. Iraq's Federation seeks to hold the 2nd Zurkhaneh Sports World Championship in Fall 2012 in Najaf, the 2012 capital of Islamic culture.
