Photo Report | March 2012: Held by IZSF education department with the cooperation of National Olympic Committee of Iran, the course was provided for 7 days at the Olympic camp of Azadi Sports Complex in Tehran. The main goal was to introduce the referee software to participation.
The International Referee Course was taught by Seyed Abdullah Sajjadi, IZSF Technical Committe director; Gholam Hassan Panahiha, Zurkhaneh sports Referee director; Reza Mahmoudi, IZSF Technical Committee secretary general; Alireza Hassas, education department director; Ali Asghar Hadizadeh, president of the Para-Zurkhaneh Sports Committee; Mohammad Gohari; and Ms. Ghorbani.
In addition to reviewing regulations, participants learnt the installation, running and working processes for team and individual sections on the software, and also how to classify the Para-Zurkhaneh sports.
After the exam, the number of 5 participation were awarded their "B" Referees licenses and the 4 were received their "C" Referees licenses by the IZSF Technical Committee.
Zurkhaneh Referee Needs High Precision
Alireza Hassas, director of IZSF education department, said to the website "Zurkhaneh.com": "The training course was held at workshops, for the practical aspects were more important to us. Videos of 2010 and 2011 competitions were shown and the participation gave their own scores".
"The Zurkhaneh sports referee needs a high precision. When a team is weak, then more negative points it would receive. If a team is strong, so its scores are high", he insisted.
Basic Feature for Referee is to be Updated
About the characteristics of good referees, Seyed Abdullah Sajjadi, IZSF Technical Committee director, stated:"Playing the Zurkhaneh sports, studying regulations, watching competition videos, being in a high fitness especially for Koshti-Pahlavani competition, and more important, being updated are among the characteristics of a good referee".
Future Competitions Use New Referees
Matser Gholam Hassan Panahiha Said:"The present referees have been acted in past competitions as assistant referees; however, they now learn how to work the referring software ".
"With no doubt, they will be applied as official referees in future competitions ", Zurkhaneh sports referee director of IZSF Technical Committee emphasized.
Master Panahiha stated his satisfaction with the quality of training course and ideas received from participation and added: "The current course provided just 80% of referee skills; the rest can be experienced through different competitions".
Reza Mahmoudi, Iranian well-known and good-tempered champion and IZSF Technical Committee secretary referred to "the workshop training method" and said: "Regulations and rules were all taught step by step on the software. And participation individually exercised referring for different parts of the latest competitions".
Referee Software Exploited from 2007
Mohammad Gohari, the executive engineer for the first Zurkhaneh sports refere software, said: "Research to design the software began from the late 2006 in collaboration with IZSF Technical Committee. The initial version was released during the 1st European Zurkhaneh Sports Championship held in Germany in March 2007".
The software project manager concerned its adoption with latest programming technologies and regulations.
Refereeing Zurkhaneh Sports; Hard and Complex
Ravi Ghimire, Napali international referee, said: "Owing to different principles and techniques, the Zurkhaneh sports make the refereeing task more difficult and complex, compared to other sports".
Vasim Ali, Iraqi international referee, pointed out to the diversity of Zurkhaneh sports and stated:"In my word, refereeing team section is more difficult than individual and Koshti-Pahlavani. For teams, a referee should consider Sang Gereftan, Kabaddeh Keshi, and Mil Bazi of all athletes in a short time, in addition to refereeing accuracy and harmony for movements of any individual athlete".
Mohammad Azad, Afghan International Referee, emphasized that the software is an important step towards standardizing refereeing and preventing personal taste, because all parts and skills are separated.
Moreover, the participants and IZSF officials attended in "Niroo Shadi" Zurkhaneh in Tehran and were welcomed by the athletes.
From its foundation in 2004, the International Zurkhaneh Sports Fundation has held 54 training courses in different countries. Also, 5 international refereeing courses have been provided in the current year in order to complete the IZSF refereeing personnel.
