How do you evaluate Nepal’s attendance at the 3rd Asian Zurkhaneh Sports Championship?
Our experiences of attendance in three Asian championships show that at team level, we have a better chance to gain medals. At Pahlavani level, we aim to gain experience and to get prepare for the following competitions.
What are the executive structures in Nepal’s Zurkhaneh sports?
The Zurkhaneh sports have a independent federation in Nepal registered in 2008. The federation pursue actively its measures, it is also recognized officially by the National Olympic Committee of Nepal.
What are the development programs of the Asian Zurkhaneh Sports confederation?
First of all, Zurkhaneh sport belongs to all, and everybody in society can enjoy it. One of the main goals of the Asian Confederation is to promulgate the Zurkhaneh sport among all age groups. Accordingly, we are planning to hold the 1st youth championship in Fall 2011. Second, the Confederation seeks to attract the support of the National Olympic Committees of Asia so that we can present this sport in the Asian Games. Attending the Asian games is one more step to get closer to the Olympics.
What is Nepal looking for in the Zurkhaneh sports?
I must say we have run Golrizan in schools, based on which the Zurkhaneh sports are performed in Nepal schools. We try to teach Zurkhaneh sports from the early childhood.
