About the Importance of the International and Continental Zurkhaneh sports championship, The vice Chairman of the Cultural Commission of the Parliament, stated: “I feel that the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation has well found its way. Now, the national and cultural authorities should exert extensive support of this Islamic-Iranian sport.”
“I believe the Zurkhaneh sports can enhance Pahlavani morals in individuals and reinforce religious beliefs. It is a kind of sport with that the whole body is engaged, and athlete can display his physical and psychological capabilities in the best manner”, Dr. Seyyed Ramazan Shojaee Kiyasari, vice Chairman of the Cultural Commission of the Parliament, asserted.
He added:” considering the current facilities and budget dedicated by the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, we should try more to offer the sport to the world, and to do this, we have to be patient.”
The representative of Sari province stated:” The Parliament has a constructive view towards this sport and we, as the people’s representatives, will devote more efforts to develop it. Since I believe the sport is one of the best ways to introduce Islamic and Iranian culture.”
Considering the development of Zurkaneh sports across Asia, he said:”I was present in the last year’s championship in Kenya, but I think the technical level in Bangladesh competitions was higher than that. This indicates a good progress in the Zurkhaneh sports across Asia and the world.”
At the end, Vice Chairman of the Cultural Commission of the Parliament stated:”I know the progress of International federation promising, and believe that this sport can spread across the world due to the high levels of officials’ motivation.”
