What is the status of the Zurkhaneh Sports in Uganda?
The sport is developing in my country. In March 2011, we had a series of training programs for the Zurkkhaneh sports in Uganda, conducted and supported by the authorities of International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation. In general, the sport is growing in the country, and even women tend to enter the field. Now, 65 athletes participate in the Zurkhaneh practices. Also, we are planning to develop the Zurkaneh sports through preparing training CDs and distributing them among fans.
Do you have a developmental plan for the Zurkahneh sports in Uganda, and generally in Africa?
Yes, we have some long- and short-term programs. Out main emphasize has been put on the development of the Zurkhaneh sports among students and the young athletes. We invest on the youth and this will ultimately be effective.
