The International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation has had a significant progress during a short time, and this generates a good future for us.
This was noted by Mohammad Anwar Jekdalek, the vice president of Afghanistan and The President of the Asian Zurkhaneh Sports Confederation. About the Asian championship held in Bangladesh, he added: “Despite the shortage of time Bangladesh was a good host for the competitions. Although this country has not officially registered yet in the federation.”
For the development of the Zurkhaneh sports across Asia, Anwar Khan said:” In the past, only the Iranian team displayed great performance. Today, however, teams like Tajikistan, Afghanistan and even Nepal have made so much of progress .”
Considering efforts conducted to introduce the Zurkhaneh sports in Olympic games, vice president of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation advised:” Along with Secretary General of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, we have already met the vice president of the International Olympic Committee and invited him to attend our next championships and observe our capabilities.” The former president of the Olympic Committee of Afghanistan said:”It is the time for us to take presence at the meetings of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and defend our sports. As we believe the Zurkhaneh sports and Koshti Pahlavani has the same potentials as Kabaddi and Wrestling.
