In the sideline of the 4th worldwide congress of Zurkhaneh sports in Bangladesh, Mohsen Mehralizadeh, The President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation said: “To achieve the ideals, we need some 10 to 15 years extensive efforts. I must say during the recent 6 years, we have reached 80 percent of what wanted and targeted. Of course, we could reach 100 percent.
“Fortunately, the support recieved from the Iranian Parliament has caused our efforts to continue. However, We do not have control over everything. We completed a 40 years efforts for Taekwondo just in 6 years. This is a great success for us”, The President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation added.
About the success of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation and its desired growth, he said:”Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of my colleagues and the support from the Iranian Parliament and the Cultural Commission, we have had desired growth within less than 7 years. We began our work just with the representatives from 22 countries in Tehran.  Now, the number is up to 63 countries which know the Zurkhaneh very well and perform it.
For the investigation on adolescence and youth levels, IZSF president stated: “I am glad to say that different countries are prepared to investigate on these two parts. So, we will hold the Asian and the World youth championships in the current year, and also the European young championship in the following year.
Considering IZSF efforts to introduce the Zurkhaneh sports in Olympic Games, Mehr Alizadeh said: “We are now collecting data and documents necessary for this purpose. During the recent 7 years, we have had a great growth in all fields. This can be counted as a major success.”
With regard to the 4th IZSF congress, President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation said:”In the 4th congress, we approved the financial reports for previous years, while the 2011 budget was again explained to the members. This budget consisting of 6 educational and research titles will be charged to hold competitions, purchase and deliver facilities, help different countries, as well as to build Zurkhaneh in some countries, and advertisements and cultural practices.”
About 11 new members of the federation, he advised: “One of the other approvals of this congress was to add 11 new countries to the board of the federation. Before this, their documents were studied by the current members.”
President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation referring to the membership of 11 countries, including Turkey, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Finland, Slovakia, Kenya and Zimbabwe said:” Preparing scheduled calendars for sports competitions for years 2011 and 2012  was also discussed at the fourth congress which was finally approved by the members.”
At the end, Mehr Alizadeh referred to an approved major clause in the IZSF charter and said:” in the original charter, Tehran was selected as the center of Zurkhaneh sports. Although it was proposed that the center could be located in any other country. However, due to the importance of Zurkhaneh sport, Tehran was selected as a main federation center hereafter, so Iranian people will be able to guide this highly favored sport.
