{Photo Report}The one-week period was held from 16 March 2011 attended by athletes and coaches from South Africa, Tanzania, Zanzibarin Kampala, Capital of Uganda.
Secretary General of African Confederation and President of Uganda’s Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, Eddie Gombya, said: “The training course was organized by the permission of Ministry of Sports and National Olympic Committee of Uganda in Namboole stadium located in Kampala and with the attendance of some Iranian coaches and masters”.
Seyed Amir Hosseini, Secretary General of International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation (IZFS) stated that “one of the IZSF’s major policies in 2011 is to publicize zurkhaneh sports and expand efforts of African Federations and national federations in the continent. We are trying to hold the Zurkhaneh Sports Championship in Africa, after successfully organizing several Championships in Asia and Europe”.
“we are gathered here today on the occasion of inaugurating the zurkhaneh sports that originates from the heart of the ancient civilization of the Iranian nation which dates a thousand years ago of history”, Iranian Ambassador in Uganda, Ali Akbar Dabirian, said at the opening ceremony of the training.
During the training course held at the level C, Majid Panahiha, the master, and Samrat Signt, Director of IZSF development affairs, began to train the participants.
At the end, the participants were given a practical test and awarded certificate accordingly.
